The game had an amazing feature that if the PS2 Memory Card reads the save data for The Precursor Legacy (2001), Jak II (2003), Jak 3 and Ratchet: Deadlocked (2005), the players get Young Jak, Dark Eco Jak, Wastelander Jak and Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank, respectively. The story is about how a posthumous recording of Krew explained that the drink Jak and his friends drank was poison. People can customize their own car based on different parts and use the driver they should use on the car. It expanded upon the driving concept from Jak 3 (2004) and used it for all types of gameplay including Exhibition and Arena. Even though Naughty Dog completed the Jak & Daxter trilogy, they did not cross the finish line until they made Jak X: Combat Racing (2005).
